These are just some of the custom work and mods available.

Parts are not included in the prices shown.

Volume Hi-pass Mod $40 - $60

When you turn a volume control down in passive electronics, the first frequencies to disappear are the highs. If you would like to retain more of the pickups frequencies at lower volume, a hi-pass mod to the volume control might be of interest.

However, this mod might not play well with certain vintage fuzz pedals and may also slightly alter the players interaction with the volume control. Simply put, you might end up rotating more to get the same volume change. For these reasons not every guitar player likes this mod.

This price is for solid body electric guitars or guitars which have accessible control cavities. Hollow body “ES” style guitars will at least double this price unless other electronic work is being done at which point, this mod is a pretty simple “add on” to the work.

De-gloss Neck $60 - $80

Non-vintage guitars only. Careful abrading of the finish on the back of a neck to reduce the “sticky” feeling.

To fix a DIY attempt would approximately double the cost.

Phase Switch $40 - $60

Switching the phase of one pickup to another or, one coil to the other (humbucker) will create a more mid-centric sound. This can cut through a mix or create an appealing nasaly “Otis Rush”sound.

Not every pickup will work with a phase switch. Multi-conductor humbuckers are required and sometimes three-conductor single coil pickups.

Coil Cut $40.00 - $60

To make a humbucking pickup sound like a single coil pickup, or, sort of like a single coil pickup. The fact is, one coil of a humbucker is not going to sound exactly like a single coil but, pretty close.

If you are not familiar with the sound a quick YouTube search should turn up plenty of examples.

Blues Junior Tone Shaping $80 - $200

Beyond standard upgrades and stability improvements, subtle tone alterations have become popular on Blue Junior amplifiers. The work involves swapping particular capacitor values throughout the amp.

If the amp is already being serviced which requires the main circuit board dropped, these mods can be added for lower end of the price range.

Strat or Tele Re-wire $160

For anyone replacing a set of pickups, this modification would be an upgrade to higher quality components, buss wire grounding (stability), high quality switch, tone control changes (bridge tone, neck/middle tone), capacitor, wire and output jack upgrades and could include the Volume Hi-pass Mod.

It is also possible to customize the wiring for other add-ons. Price addition depends on complexity.

Import guitars upgraded to USA components may require enlarging potentiometer holes.

Negative Feedback Switch $80 - $120

The ground switch on vintage Fender amps is not needed and if the “death cap” is removed, this can be turned into a switch that provides two different negative feedback values.

The amount of negative feedback can alter the break up of the amp as the volume is increased. It can be a simple way to give an extra layer of grit to an older Fender amp.

While purists will decry such a “mod”, it does not permanently alter the amplifier. The original parts can stay in the amplifier and the entire mod can be removed if someone insists it be “stock”.
