Tube Amplifier Services

Regular maintenance of your beloved tube amp is highly recommended. Avoid much costlier repairs by having it serviced by a knowledgeable technician. My repair services focus almost exclusively on Fender amplifiers whether they be vintage or modern incarnations.

There are many well known issues with different amplifier designs. Again, servicing those issues early is less expensive than waiting until something goes wrong, and it can go very wrong.

No solid-state amplifiers or modelers (sorry).

Basic Services

Due to the high voltages present in tube amplifiers, no powering on of the amplifier will be done at intake.

Things to consider:

  • There is a minimum bench fee or any amplifier. This minimum may include work to address the issues or simply be an assessment to inform a written estimate.

  • It may also be obvious the work would be declined by either the client or myself.

  • Previous work or modifications may complicate the work, add expense or result in declining the repair. This includes DIY attempts after seeing a YouTube video.

  • I will not permanently modify vintage tube amps (drill holes in chassis etc.)

  • Any service requests that jeopardize safety will be declined.

  • All communication regarding servicing, estimates or decisions will be done via email.

Pricing

  • Bench Fee $120 (non-refundable).

  • Minor work and basic maintenance can sometimes be completed within the Bench Fee allotted time.

  • Parts and associated shipping costs for parts is above and beyond labor estimates (added to final bill).
